Last year, the Royals were compiling one of the worst records in baseball. Over the last three days, they’ve helped another team put together one of the worst records ever. They handed the Tigers a 10-4 defeat, which was their 111th loss of the season. The Tigers are the first American League club to lose that many games since the 1939 St. Louis Browns. Joe Randa who was 3-5 with five RBI’s and a three-run homer led Kansas City at the plate. Brian Anderson got his 12th win of the season, despite allowing four runs off ten hits. The Royals remain three-and-a-half games behind the Twins who won and three behind the White Sox who were idle.
