Cards Throttle Brewers

The Cardinals beat the Brewers 11-2 at Busch Stadium, ending a four-game losing streak. Brett Tomko got his 13th win of the season and he went 2-4 with three RBI’s. Albert Pujols hit his 42nd home run, which ties him with Barry Bonds for the league lead. Pujols leads the National League with a .364 batting average and is third in RBI’s with 122. Jim Edmonds, who had just four hits in his last 29 at bats, hit his 37th home run of the season. The Cardinals are five games out of first place in the National League Central.
