All charges have been dropped against a Springfield nurse charged with failure to report child abuse in the Dominic James case. Her lawyer says a circuit judge has ruled the state law on which the charges were based is unconstitutional. The Greene County prosecutor says he’ll appeal the decision to the State Supreme Court. Nurse Leslie Ann Brown was charged months after Dominic James died while in foster care. She was accused of not reporting to state officials that the boy had some fingertip-sized bruises. She says she didn’t think they came from abuse. Eleven days later, the boy was taken to a hospital and died from shaken baby syndrome. His foster father has been charged with second-degree murder.
