The state is getting an ombudsman to watch over children in foster care. She’s Mary McEniry who has been the Director of the Child Advocacy Center in the Jackson County Family Court System. She’ll work with the Office of Administration, not the State Department of Social Services. Governor Bob Holden, who has hired her, says she’ll provide an independent view of the foster care system.
