House Votes To Override Two Holden Vetoes

September 10, 2003 By admin Leave a Comment

Members of the Missouri House stick with their votes on two emotional issues, overriding the vetoes of Governor Bob Holden twice. First, the House voted 120 to 35 to override Governor Holden’s veto of a 24-hour wait to get an abortion. Then, 115 to 39 it voted to override the veto of the concealed gun bill. Supporters needed 109 votes to override. The two measures move to the Senate, where their fate is less certain.
