The leading Democrat in the House doesn’t have high expectations for the special legislative session underway at the Capitol. Representative Mark Abel of Festus says Democrats want to help push Governor Bob Holden’sproposals to close four so-called corporate tax loopholes, though he says majority Republicans don’t seem willing to soften the hard-line stance they took during the regular session and the first special session. Abel believes any movement during this special session on the Governor’s agenda will have to come from the Senate and move to the House.
