Presidential candidate Al Sharpton has encouraged parents in the St. Louis School District to boycott classes on this opening day. Sharpton gains some support from longtime Alderman Freeman Bosley Senior who has told the congregation at one church members should consider carefully whether to send children to school today because an outside management team has made changes in school operations. The Acting Superintendent of Schools in St. Louis has gone to six churches, telling members the schools are safe, and will offer improved education.
