The Missouri Department of Transportation, undeterred by previous failed efforts to get the authority to toll some of the state’s roads, is going to try again. Jay Wunderlich, MoDOT’s legislative liason, says more revenue for the Department is at the top of his wish-list for the regular session that starts in January. One method for increased revenue he’s looking at is tolling. Wunderlich says they’ll have to ask for specific projects to toll when it goes to lawmakers this time. But Wunderlich admits the Department would still have to get a broad authority to toll in a constitutional amendment.
