Priest Holmes answered any questions doubters may have had about his once-injured hip. Holmes rushed for 85 yards, caught seven passes for 98 yards and scored two touchdowns as the Chiefs topped the Chargers 27-14 at Arrowhead. Most of his damage was done in the first half and was held out most of the fourth quarter. Despite some trouble in the second half, Trent Green was 21 of 32 for 282 yards a touchdown and interception. The Chiefs’ first half went about as smoothly as possible, taking a 24-0 lead into the half. The Chargers were able to score twice and were looking for a third when the Chiefs’ defense held on fourth and inches in their own territory. Vonnie Holliday’s debut as a Chief resulted three sacks on Sunday. Drew Brees was pressured all day and finished 18-33 for 202 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions by Shaunard Harts and Greg Wesley.
