Governor Expands Call For Special Session

September 8, 2003 By admin Leave a Comment

Governor Bob Holden has expanded the call for the special legislative session that’s underway today at the State Capitol. In addition to his request for more dollars for public schools, the Governor is asking the General Assembly to allow for technical changes in a bill which created hiring restrictions for in-home health care providers. The unintended impact of the law required the termination of numerous current home health employees who had old or minor listings on the background check registry not affecting the employees’ trustworthiness or competency to provide in-home or home health services.
