Senator Jim Talent’s “Build America Bonds” proposal to pump $50-Billion into the country’s transportation infrastructure has received a boost from the Missouri Transportation Commission. It’s voted to endorse the plan. Talent says this plan has the potential to create millions of jobs, generate billions of dollars in economic activity, and save thousands of lives by improving transportation safety. He adds Missouri could benefit by receiving up to one-billion dollars in federal money. Talent hopes to pick up more support for this idea from across the country and eventually attach it to the Highway Bill.
