If Major League Baseball Players association were the Teamsters, the Cardinals and Cubs would be due some overtime pay. The two teams played 26 innings in a double header Tuesday. In game one, Chris Widger had an RBI single and Jim Edmonds belted his 35th homer to give St. Louis a 2-0 lead. But in the fifth, the Cubs rallied for two runs to tie it at 2-2. It stayed that way until the bottom of the 15th when Sammy Sosa blasted a two run homer to end it. In the nightcap, Matt Morris held the Cubs in check. Morris pitched seven innings and allowed five hits and no runs. Steve Kline, Mike DeJean and Jason Isringhausen held Chicago hitless over the final two innings. Morris got his ninth win and Isringhausen got his 17th save. Jim Edmonds homered off Kerry Wood in the second game and Tino Martinez scored on an error. St. Louis has a half-game lead over the Astros and a game and a half lead over the Cubs.
