The Cardinals and Cubs endured a four-hour rain delay on Monday. As far as Woody Williams is concerned the game could have been delayed forever. Williams was touched up in the fifth inning as Chicago rallied for six runs in a 7-0 win. Williams was only on the mound for four of the tallies, but was charged with all six. Williams is 14-7 and hasn’t won since July 26th. For the Cubs, Mark Prior was tough over eight innings, allowing five hits. Prior improved to 14-5 on the season. Fernando Vina, who returned to the lineup this weekend, went 2-4 in the loss. St. Louis is back into a first-place tie with Houston in the National League Central.
