The Royals played through rain in Arlington in a 7-3 loss to the Rangers. Mark Teixeira and Hank Blaylock homered in the second inning and Teixereia struck again in the fourth to give Texas a 3-0 lead. Ken Harvey’s two run homer in the fifth inning cut the Rangers lead to 3-2, but Kansas City never got any closer. Darrell May dropped to 8-7 in six innings of work. He surrendered four runs, three of them earned. The Royals missed a chance to gain ground on the White Sox who were off Monday. Instead they dropped two games back in the American League Central.
