With most of the top players sitting out, the Chiefs took home their second straight Governor’s Cup, beating the Rams 22-6 in St. Louis. Kurt Warner and Marshall Faulk sat out for St. Louis, while Priest Holmes and Tony Gonzalez did not play for the Chiefs. K.C. quarterback Johnathan Quinn was 15-21 for 231 yards and a touchdown. Running back Derrick Blaylock picked up 64 yards on five carries. Marc Bulger saw most of the action at quarterback for St. Louis. He was 15-28 for 158 yards and threw two interceptions. The Chiefs finished the preseason with a 2-3 mark, the Rams finished 1-3.
