Kerry Robinson’s first home run of the season couldn’t have come at a better time. Robinson led off the 9th inning with a solo blast, lifting the Cardinals to a 3-2 win over the Cubs. It was also Robinson’s first career walkoff home run. The Cardinals once again beat the Cubs bullpen, which gave up eight runs in three innings in the series. Cubs starters gave up just two earned runs over 22 innings. Scott Rolen also went deep for the Cards, who moved into a first-place tie with Houston in the National League Central. Mike DeJean pitched 1.2 innings of scoreless relief, earning his first win as a Cardinal.
