The Royals have added another pitcher. They traded two minor league players to the Indians for lefty Brian Anderson. His record isn’t all that impressive, but Cleveland’s offense didn’t support him much in 2003. Anderson’s 9-10 with a 3.71 ERA and is expected to start tonight against the Rangers. Control is Anderson’s forte; in 148 innings, he’s struck out 72 and walked 32. Perhaps the most impressive thing on his resume is playoff race experience. Anderson was on Arizona’s 2001 World Championship roster and in the post season he’s a career 2-1 with a 2.43 ERA. The move was in reaction to Kevin Appier leaving Sunday’s game with elbow stiffness. He’ll be examined to day and possibly put on the DL.
