Gary Pinkel released Mizzou’s depth chart yesterday and it had a youthful look to it. Two red shirt freshmen and three sophomores will start on defense for Missouri as they open their 2003 season against Illinois on Saturday. The freshmen are defensive end Brian Smith and rover Dedrick Harrington. The sophomores are nose tackle C.J. Mosely, whip Jason Simpson and cornerback Calvin Washington. Junior college transfer, Nino Williams, will start his first game as a Tiger at cornerback. There are two seniors starting on defense and there’s still some inexperience to be found. Brandon Barnes, who gets the nod at linebacker, moved to the position after spending his career as a safety. Mizzou’s season opener is Saturday against Illinois at the Dome in St. Louis.
