Kansas City Area Schools To Sue State Over Education Withholdings

August 14, 2003 By admin Leave a Comment

A coalition of Kansas City area schools plans to file a lawsuit against the state to stop Governor Bob Holden from withholding $200-Million in educational funding. The districts threatening to file the suit in Cole County by tomorrow include Liberty, Fort Osage and Lee’s Summit. The lawsuit will challenge Holden’s authority to withhold any of the $4.5-Billion the state legislation appropriated for public education.
