DNA Evidence Used To Charge Man In 2000 Rape Case

August 14, 2003 By admin Leave a Comment

Jackson County prosecutors have used DNA evidence to reach back three years to file charges in an unsolved rape case. They have filed rape charges against a man in prison, after a DNA test linked him to an attack on a 77-year-old woman in 2000. The woman has since died of natural causes. 21-year-old Ramone Winters, serving a five year prison sentence for burglary and assault, now is charged with rape.
