High tech comes to higher education. Teachers at St. Louis Community College’s new South County Education and University Center have had to get special training just to use the new classrooms the center offers. Each has its own screen projector, VCR, DVD as well as Internet access. And, two of the classrooms contain interactive video to get classes to remote locations. Others are reserved for the University of Missouri-St. Louis, Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau and Harris-Stowe State College in St. Louis which will offer junior and senior courses that could lead to further work at those four-year institutions. Officials at St. Louis Community College say it’s just another example of using technology and cooperation to make money stretch further.
