The United States basketball team topped Uruguay 74-72 at the Pan Am Games yesterday thanks in large part to the team’s two Tigers. Arthur Johnson not only led the U.S. in scoring with 17 points, but he also hit a free throw to tie the game at 72. Moments later, Rickey Paulding hit a free throw to give Team U.S.A. a 73-72 lead and he hit another for the final score, finishing with seven points on the night. Paulding also hit a clutch jumper to give the U.S. a win over Argentina in the opener on Saturday. The U.S. will play Brazil in the semifinals tonight.
