Blues Center Pavol Demitra will have the opportunity to make $6.5-million with the Blues next season. The decision from his arbitration hearing was announced yesterday and he was awarded the second-highest salary by an arbitrator in NHL history. Demitra made just under $4-million last season. He certainly put up numbers worthy of a raise, scoring 36 goals and dishing out 57 assists to lead the Blues in scoring last season. He was sixth in the NHL overall. The Blues have 72 hours to decide whether or not they want to sign him to a one-year deal at that price. If not Demitra will become an unrestricted free agent.
