August 5, 2003 By admin Leave a Comment

Lightning did in last night’s Hall of Fame Game in Canton, Ohio, which gave the Chiefs a 9-0 win. Morten Anderson kicked field goals of 32 and 51-yards to put Kansas City up 6-0 at the half. Just before halftime, lineman Willie Jones sprained his neck, causing temporary paralysis. He lay on the field for ten minutes before being carted away. Jones later regained feelings in his fingers and toes and has been hospitalized. In the second half Jose Cortez kicked the final field goal of the evening to make it 9-0. Priest Holmes had five carries for 14 yards. With 5:29 to go in the third quarter, the game was called because of lightning. The Chiefs suffered one other injury when defensive end Eric Hicks hurt his ankle.
