The first Top 25 coaches’ poll was released yesterday and despite being ranked in some pre-season prognostications, Mizzou failed to make the cut in this one. They checked in with the 43rd highest vote total, sandwiched between Clemson and Oregon. The Big 12 put four teams in the Top 25. Oklahoma has the top spot, while Texas and Kansas State occupy the fourth and fifth positions. Oklahoma State is ranked 24th. Colorado received the 27th highest vote total, Texas A&M is 29th and Nebraska is 31st. Mizzou will play all of those teams except Texas and Oklahoma State. The Tigers open the regular season on August 30th when they face Illinois at the dome in St. Louis.
