Southeast Missouri State is not known as a football powerhouse, but maybe that will change. For the first time ever, the Indians are been picked to win the Ohio Valley Conference title. A poll of the leagues head coaches gave SEMO the thumbs up coming into the 2003 season. Southeast finished 8-4 and ranked 23rd in the nation in Division I-AA in 2002. They come into the 2003 campaign ranked 16th in the pre-season polls. Experience will highlight Tim Billings’ squad as he enters his fourth season in Cape Girardeau. He’ll have nine returning starters on both sides of the ball. Seven of his players have been named to the pre-season All-OVC team.
