The University of Missouri does not want anyone to know what kind of a deal it has – or had – with former basketball player Ricky Clemons. It also wants to keep secret any communicatins the school had about Clemons with the NCAA. The Columbia Daily Tribune had filed an opens records request with the University. But a lawyer for the University says a federal law prohibits disclosure of any academic records of students. The University’s athletic director will not say why Clemons was kicked off the team or why his scholarship was revoked other than to say Clemons violated an agreement he signed in April. But he refuses to say what was in that agreement.
