The Royals lead is now down to four games after yesterday’s 6-2 loss to the Twins at the Metrodome. The Royals allowed four runs off three hits, a walk, an error and a wild pitch in the eighth inning. Jason Grimsley was on the mound for all of it and suffered the loss. Darrell May started the game and allowed two runs off three hits over seven innings. He was looking to win his sixth straight win after starting the season with a mark of 0-4. Later that evening the White Sox won their seventh straight by topping Toronto 3-2 in 13 innings, putting them a game closer to the Royals. Kansas City will face the White Sox at Kauffman next week. Tonight the Royals open up a three-game series in Detroit.
