The State Office of Historic Preservation is going to have to be choosy this year in deciding which preservation projects will get matching funds. Office Director Jo Ann Radetic says the money available for grants this year has been cut to only $70,000. She’s not sure there will be money for all of the categories. Only 29 communities will be eligible to apply. Because of the shortage of funds, no applications will be accepted from individuals or non-profits, or communities that are considered non-certified.
