Japanese Foundation Provides Monetary Gift To Head Of Missouri Botanical Garden

A Japanese foundation is giving the head of the Missouri Botanical Garden $340,000 … to be spent in any way he wants. The grant to Doctor Peter Raven is from the Expo ’90 Foundation. The foundaiton gives its International Cosmos Prize each year to someone who embodies the spirit of the International Garden and Greenery Exposition held in Osaka in 1990. Raven is internationally known for his promotion of biological diversity and his work in preserving endangered plant species.
