Troubled University of Missouri basketball player Ricky Clemons has been kicked off the team. MU Athletic Director Mike Alden made the announcement this afternoon. Clemons averaged 14-points a game last season, third on the team, but his off-the-court problems led to his dismissal. Clemons served time at a Columbia half-way house after being convicted of false imprisonment of a former girlfriend. He then suffered an injury while riding an all-terrain vehicle at the home of the university president July 4th weekend, which led to further trouble. Clemons was found in violation of his probation, because he was out past his curfew. Alden said in a prepared statement that this is the conclusion of a very unfortunate situation for a young man that we worked very hard with to give every opportunity to succeed.
