Hideo Nomo held the Cardinals in check on the mound and on the plate. The Dodgers pitcher got his 10th win, while driving in three as St. Louis fell to LA 6-3. Nomo lasted six innings giving up two of the Cardinals five hits. Nomo allowed only one run. With the bat in his hand, Nomo gave the Dodges a 2-0 lead with a home run off Garrett Stephenson in the third. H struck again in the fourth with an RBI double. Albert Pujols added to his National League RBI lead with a double in the eighth inning to score Bo Hart. Pujols has driven in 87 runs this season. It was the Dodger debut for Ricky Henderson and Jeromy Burnitz. Henderson, who is the major leagues all-time leader in runs, walks and stolen bases, went 1-4. Burnitz was 0-4. The loss dropped the Cardinals deeper into second place in the N.L. Central, where they trail the Astros by two games.
