Larry Johnson officially became a Chief on Thursday. The first-round draft pick out of Penn State agreed to a seven-year deal with Kansas City, becoming the second first-round draft pick to sign with his team this year. Carson Palmer agreed to a deal with the Bengals before the draft. At a press conference yesterday Johnson expressed his desire to get a deal done before training camp. He joked that he would have been happy with, “ten dollars, two dogs and a house.” Johnson also made it clear that he didn’t want to cause waves over a contract because he doesn’t think he’s earned the right to do so. He’s currently the second-string running back behind Priest Holmes, who will try to show off his rehabbed hip once training camp begins. Terms of Johnson’s were not disclosed.
