Pep Rally Celebrates MU-Ill Ticket Sales

July 17, 2003 By admin Leave a Comment

Tickets for the Missouri-Illinois football game went on sale yesterday. This year’s game, slated for August 30th, will be played at the dome in St. Louis. The Tigers and Illini renewed their rivalry last year and MU came away with a 33-20 win. It was the first meeting between the two teams since 1994, when Illinois took a 42-0 win in Champaign. Organizers are expecting a sell-out crowd of 67,000 people when the football version of the “Braggin’ Rights” game kicks off. A pep rally featuring the schools’ bands and players from the St. Louis area was held yesterday in downtown St. Louis to celebrate the first day of ticket sales.
