A study by a commission of many states says up to $12.4-Billion in lost state tax revenues from 2001 can be attributed to corporate tax loopholes. Missouri’s Director of Revenue Carol Fischer says our state’s share equals $98-Million, with $55-Million of that coming from state loopholes. Fischer says this is being highlighted now because of the tight state budget and some of the corporate scandals that have come to light recently. Fischer does not believe eliminating the corporate tax loopholes will hurt Missouri’s business climate.
