The green light has been given for the circulation of petitions that could legalize casino gambling somewhere other than on the Missouri and Mississippi Rivers. The state has told petition organizers in Rockaway Beach they can start gathering signatures. The community says it needs a casino on Lake Taneycomo to survive. Rockaway Beach is few miles from Branson. Branson business groups have come out strongly against the plan. Missouri now has 11 casinos.
