Sex Offender Registry Challenged In Court

July 11, 2003 By admin Leave a Comment

Missouri’s sex offender registry law is being challenged in a federal lawsuit. Six men and two women who say they are registered offenders have filed the suit in Kansas City. It claims the law is unconstitutional on six points. One of them says the law restricts personal freedom without a due process hearing. Another says it adds punishment without a jury trial. The law requires offenders to register with authorities wherever they live.
