The Royals got just five hits in a 7-1 loss to the Angels. Garret Anderson belted two two-run homers driving in four runs for Anaheim. He gave the Angels the lead in the bottom of the first inning with blast number-one. He made it 5-1 in the sixth as Anaheim scored in five innings. Kansas City’s only score came off of Aaron Guiel’s bat when Angel Berroa scored on a fielder’s choice. Chris George got the loss, dropping to 9-6. He’s been stuck on nine wins since June 29th. In that time his ERA his continued to rise to 7.11. Meanwhile Aaron Sele lasted five innings giving up a run off four hits. Kansas City managed just one hit after Sele left. Despite dropping two of three to Anaheim, the Royals held on to their four and a half game lead over the Twins, who lost their fifth straight on Thursday. Runelvys Hernandez will be back in the starting rotation this evening as the Royals visit the Ranges. Hernandez, who hasn’t pitched for the Royals in almost two months, will be limited to 70-80 pitches.
