The Missouri winners of the huge Powerball Lottery jackpot have stepped forward to claim they have the winning ticket. Bill and Claudia Walkenbach of Hermann hold the winner. Bill is a semi-retired supervisor at a New Haven company that makes window seals for vehicles. Claudia is a substitute school teacher in Hermann. Claudia walked into the Hermann Fuel Mart Wednesday afternoon to buy a newspaper, had $5 left, and bought $5 worth of Powerball tickets. Claudia watched the TV news, Wednesday night, to see whether they had won anything. At first, Claudia thought they had won $100,000, then realized they had won the big prize. The couple, who have lived in Hermann all their lives, will stay there. They haven’t made big plans for spending the money other than Claudia’s desire for a new refrigerator and Bill’s wish for a new tractor.
