If there’s such a thing as baseball karma, Darrell May is experiencing it. After going almost three months without a win, May has now won three in a row. He went seven innings allowing four hits as the Royals beat the Angels 4-0 in Anaheim. May improved his record to 3-4 and lowered his ERA to 3.62. Jason Grimsley and D.J. Carrasco were perfect in the eighth and ninth to preserve the win. Offensively, the Royals took care of business quickly. Michael Tucker’s bloop single drove in two runs in the fourth inning to break a scoreless tie. Aaron Guiel followed up with a two-run homer in the fifth. With the win, the Royals widened the gap over the Twins to four and a half games. Runelvys Hernandez is expected to pitch Friday against the Rangers. He’s been on the DL since mid-May with elbow and groin problems.
