Health Department Cuts Could Soon Be Felt At Local Level

Your local health department is likely to be under some pressure to re-align some priorities in the next 12 months becuase of reductions in state support. The State Health Department’s budget has been cut by the Legislature, and faces withholdings of more funds. Department Director is Dick Dunn says services for senior citizens also will face reductions. He says state support for Area Agencies on Aging will be cut 13 percent.
