Owners of the St. Louis Cardinals have scrapped plans to tear down part of Busch Stadium during the 2005 baseball season to make way for construction of a new ballpark. They still don’t have the financing for the new stadium lined up. But team president Mark Lamping says the new stadium will be ready by the start of the 2006 season. The change means about three-thousand Bush Stadium seats will still be available for the 2005 season. Owners say some minor changes in the new stadium’s design mean part of Busch won’t have to be dismantled.
