That monthly General Relief payment that’s sent to some needy Missourians will soon be coming to an end – a victim of state budget cuts and withholdings. The $70 monthly stipend has been eliminated from the Social Services Department’s budget. The Department’s Chris Rackers says many of those who will lose this benefit cannot expect much help from eleswhere in the state. They will, however, still be eligible for federal and/or state health benefits. The General Relief program ends on July 31st.
