Tarpoff To Plead Guilty

July 3, 2003 By admin Leave a Comment

Nick Tarpoff’s career as a Missouri football player is expected to come to an end next Thursday. That’s when he’s expected to plead guilty on a felony gun possession charge. MU Athletic Department policy says that any player who pleads guilty to a felony will be immediately dismissed from the university. In February, Tarpoff accidentally shot himself in the arm, but told police a burglar shot him. While at his Columbia residence, police found a sawed-off shotgun that was shorter than legally allowed. Tarpoff later recanted the story. He’s hoping to get off without any jail time in return for the plea.
