It took Darrell May almost three months to get his first win of the season, now he’s won two straight. May tossed a complete-game six-hitter as the Royals topped the Indians 8-2. May dropped his ERA to 3.87 and improved his record to 2-4 this season. After the game he flew to Texas where his wife will be delivering a baby today. Raul Ibanez drove in three RBI’s despite going 0-3 at the plate. Ibanez walked with the bases loaded in the first inning to get Kansas City on the board. In the second he drove in a run with a fielders choice and in the sixth he knocked in Carlos Beltran with a sacrifice fly. Desi Relaford was 3-5 with two RBI’s and two runs. Carlos Beltran also drove in two. With the win Kansas City extended their lead in the American League Central to a game and a half over the Twins. The Royals added depth to their bullpen by trading Wes Obermueller and Alejandro Machado to the Brewers for Curtis Leskanic. He was 4-0 with a 2.70 ERA with Milwaukee this season.
