Governor Bob Holden has followed through on his promise to veto conceal and carry gun legislation. Holden says he has serious concerns about the bill passed by the Legislature, adding it would not have served the best interests of the people of Missouri. The Governor insists the timing of the veto had nothing at all to do with this week’s workplace shootings at a factory in Jefferson City. He says the veto event had been planned weeks in advance. The Legislature will have the opportunity to override the veto during the veto session in September.
