Police Identify Victims Of Jefferson City Shooting Spree

July 2, 2003 By admin Leave a Comment

Police in Jefferson City have released more details regarding the fatal shooting spree at the Modine Manufacturing Company. They say 25-year-old Jonathon Russell of Holts Summit, an employee at the factory, entered the building and opened fire on several co-workers. Police say Russell shot and killed 44-year-old Terry Wilson of Holts Summit and 29-year-old Ricky Borts of California – both of whom died at the scene. 42-year-old Tim Wilbers of Holts Summit died en route to the hospital. Five other workers were wounded and hospitalized. The suspect showed up at Jefferson City police headquarters, where he engaged in a shootout with a police officer. Police say it appears as though Russell shot himself to death. Police are considering several possible motives.
