A Tuesday night shooting at a manufacturing plant near Jefferson City has claimed the lives of three employees. Several others were wounded and are being treated for their injuries after the gunfire at the Modine Manufacturing Company. The suspect, identified as a 27-year-old Holt’s Summit resident who also worked at the plant, was later shot and killed when he engaged in a shootout with police outside the Jefferson City police headquarters. It’s unclear whether the man was killed by police or if he took his own life. A news conference is scheduled for later today to provide some details as to what prompted the shooting spree.
