The Royals took a pretty severe beating on Thursday. The Twins, after being beaten the previous three days, unleashed their revenge with a 16-2 onslaught on Kyle Snyder and Albie Lopez. The starter and reliever gave up 14 of the 16 runs. Snyder served up his tallies over the first four innings. Lopez, on the other hand, was blasted over two-thirds of an inning. That was the final straw for management, who released Lopez after the game. He had a 12.71 ERA coming out of the bullpen this season. The Royals are expected to recall Ryan Bukvich from Class AAA Omaha before tonight’s game with the Cardinals. The Twins belted 23 hits, while the Royals were held to just six. Desi Relaford and Raul Ibanez drove in the Royals two runs. The loss dropped kept Kansas City from moving into a tie for first place with Minnesota in the A.L. Central. They trail Minnesota by two games.
