Make no mistake, Bo Hart is not who Tony LaRussa would like to see at second base. But under the circumstances, the Cardinals manager couldn’t be happier. Hart was called up yesterday after Miguel Cairo was put on the disabled list with a broken hand. Cairo was filling in for Fernando Vina who is on the DL with a torn hamstring ligament. Hart hit a double and a two-run triple in his major league debut as the Cardinals beat the Brewers 8-4 on Thursday. Albert Pujols got the Redbirds on the board by hitting his 20th homer of the season in the first inning. J.D. Drew drove in two runs with a two-run triple. On the mound, Brett Tomko finally got the monkey off his back. He pitched 6 1/3 innings to earn his first win since April 25, improving to 3-5 on the season. Jason Isringhausen got the final out of the game to earn his first save of the year. The Cardinals, who are in second place, trail the Cubs by a game in the National League Central.
